Gloria McPherson   Land Development and Project Management

From small-scale projects in Hadley, Northampton, Belchertown and Shutesbury to Amherst's largest subdivision in several decades, we have constructed over thirty residential developments and hundreds of homes for a variety of clients. With 10 years experience working for and with local Planning Boards and Conservation Commissions, Gloria utilizes her expertise to ensure that our developments meet the highest standards of land planning. Kohl Construction homes are known to hold their value not only because of the quality of their construction but because of the thoughtful underlying design of the neighborhoods in which they are built.

In addition to overseeing Land Development, Gloria also works as a project manager. As your primary contact throughout the construction process, Gloria will facilitate every phase from design meetings through moving day.

Fred Meyer   Estimating and Project Management

Before construction begins, a fixed price is spelled out in the contract documents. With more than a decade of estimating experience, Fred prepares detailed specifications and assembles current cost information for all materials. He then works with subcontractors to secure competitive bids from skilled tradespeople.

Successful collaborations rely upon clear communication and timely coordination among client, designer, suppliers and field personnel. As project manager, Fred facilitates every phase of the process from design meetings through moving day.

Fred will be your primary contact throughout the construction process, and it is his goal to make the planning and building of your home every bit as rewarding as owning it.

Rob Viel   Architectural Design

We listen carefully as you describe the style, features and components of the home you imagine. We then unify them into a coherent and functional whole. This process can begin with a clean slate, a hand drawing or plans you may have found elsewhere. Regardless, we assure you that your final design will reflect your vision so that you may enjoy your home for years to come. We take great satisfaction in hearing from our clients, both old and new, how much they enjoy living in a home designed and built by Kohl Construction.

Rob has a degree in Architecture and over 10 years of experience designing and documenting the construction of homes in the Berkshires and Pioneer Valley.

In Memoriam

Doug Kohl passed away on September 1, 2010. He first began building homes in the Pioneer Valley in 1986 and Kohl Construction quickly developed a reputation for building quality homes in beautiful residential neighborhoods. In an age when real estate developers are sometimes unwelcome, Doug stood out as one who understood the importance and enduring value of combining a concern for the community with a sensitivity for the environment.

Doug was gifted with a singular passion, energy and vision and we, along with the community to which he was committed, miss him dearly as we continue his work without him.
